Louis Hudson began his numismatic interest at a very young age growing up in Virginia. He began with an interest in Civil War memorabilia and then developed an interest in Confederate currency and Federal coins and currency. Louis and his family moved to Argentina in 1967 to work for Philip Morris. He began collecting again but this time pursuing numismatic material Latin America. He began buying Latin American coins and banknotes and would come home every year on vacation and sell the material he purchased. He began to admire and appreciate the history and the sheer beauty of Latin American coinage in the 5 years he spent in Argentina. He decided when he moved back to the States to make this his life's work.
